Merì is a small, family-run bed & breakfast in the heart of Castello, the fortified quarter overlooking Cagliari from above. We have just two rooms, each with a private bathroom: few rooms, a lot of care. We welcome you personally, share our favourite restaurants and sights, and leave you free to feel at home.

Step out of the front door and you're already in the most authentic Cagliari: artisan workshops, panoramic terraces over the gulf, historic cafés — and Poetto beach just fifteen minutes away.

ZTL, parking and free transfer

Castello is a limited-traffic zone (ZTL): you cannot drive up to the front door or park freely among the alleys of the quarter. No stress, though — we take care of it.

    Free transfer 9:00 AM–9:00 PM Every day we drive you to and from the property free of charge, so you needn't worry about the ZTL or carrying luggage up the steep lanes.

    Parking The nearest paid public car parks are a short distance from the quarter: we'll point you to the best ones when you book.

    ZTL permit If you arrive by car we can register your number plate for the temporary ZTL access permit reserved for guests of accommodation.
  • ✈️
    Airport, train and port Cagliari-Elmas Airport is about 15 minutes away; the station and port are a few minutes from the centre.

Write to us before arrival so we can arrange the transfer and, if needed, the ZTL permit together.

Is Castello a ZTL? How do I get there and where do I park?

Yes, Castello is a limited-traffic zone: you can't drive up to the front door. We offer a free transfer from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM to and from the property. The nearest paid public car parks are a short distance away and, if you arrive by car, we can register your number plate for the temporary ZTL permit. We give you full details when you book.

Is the transfer included?

Yes, the transfer to and from the property is free every day from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Write to us to arrange the time and meeting point.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM; just let us know if you need a different time. Check-out is by 10:30 AM.

Do the rooms have a private bathroom?

Yes, both rooms have a private bathroom with shower, hairdryer and toiletries.

Is breakfast included?

Yes, breakfast is always included: sweet and savoury, with fresh produce and some Sardinian specialities.

How far is the beach?

Poetto beach — 8 km of white sand — is about 6 km away: 15 minutes by bus (PF/PQ line) or 10 by car.

Are pets allowed?

Unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets at the moment.
